What are the advantages of getting a macbook pro over a laptop running windows with the same specs?

Also as far as i can tell macs are overpriced even for their higher life expectancy, but isn't this just because most people don't take care of their computer? Ideally I'd like a point of view from both sides as to what are the advantages and disadvantages of getting a mac. Thanks :)
