I'M A TEEN DRIVER & I'M HORRIFIED...insight anyone?

Sorry about your experiences so far - I was treated the same, both when I was learning to drive and when I was learning to fly. I can do both very well now and have for many years. Do you think he might allow another trusted family member or family friend who is calmer to drive with you & teach you? (Your mom, a grandparent, uncle or aunt?). That would be better for both of you. Please don't give up & don't let this mess up your confidence or affect how you feel about yourself and your abilities. Remember, nobody is an expert after only a few tries, especially driving. What you describe as "mistakes" are the very same ones EVERYONE makes when they first start. You will get it done (in spite of his attitude). By the way, learning to back up and park are the last things you should learn. Steering, lane control, speed control, when and how to use the brakes all come first. I know a lot of people who can't back into a parking space or parallel park after driving dozens of years. You'll do fine!!
