Has this happened to anyone or is this just a freak accident?

Well, about a week or two ago, one of my cats died (i have 2 and their both outdoor animals so she peacefully ped away in her sleep on my open porch). Then a couple days after she died, i woke up to a loud meowing noise. So i walked outside to find a very small black and white kitten at my doorstep. So i feed him and took care of his then went off to school, and when i came back he was still there and got along perfectly with my other cat and dogs/animals. And this is also kinda weird, the new kitten acts the same as the one who ped away, and sleeps in the same place and all. Also, i live on a ranch so their wasn't many people around and quite strange for her to show up randomly out of no where. So i called everyone around and no one owns her. Well anyways, my mom is a pet sitter and one of her clients noticed the cat and commented on how a kitten showed up at her door when one of her cats died too. (how ironic!!!) lol So has this ever happened to anyone else? Or is their some information i should know?
